The Main Role of Universal Nodes

Generally, universal joints are composed of cross shafts, cross bearings and flange forks. Universal joint is the key component of automobile transmission shaft. On the front-engine rear-wheel-driven vehicle, the universal joint transmission shaft is installed between the output shaft of the transmission and the input shaft of the main reducer of the drive axle; while the front-wheel-driven vehicle of the front-engine omits the transmission shaft, and the universal joint is installed between the half axle of the front axle and the wheel which is responsible for both driving and steering. The angle and distance between the transmission output shaft and the drive axle main reducer input shaft will change due to the runout of the road surface, the load change or the difference of the installation position of the two assemblies. Therefore, a "variable strain" device is needed to solve this problem, so a universal joint is created.
